URGENT PLEASE, PLEASE STOP COMMERCIAL WHALING !

This year’s annual International Whaling Commission (IWC) meeting , the first in Japan in nine years, has begun with scientific committee discussions from April 25 in Shimono- seki, Japan.  The plenary meeting is to be held from May 20-24, 2002.  There will be delegations from the 43 nations to vote to decide whales’ final fate whether to pass the resumption of the cruel, bloody world Commercial Whaling again. Japan and Norway, as ever, are pressing for an end to the IWC’s ban on commercial whaling . The Japan and Norway have been using tricks, lies, threats, for example: buying the votes from IWC members in the attempt to resume the commercial whaling in the world.

NORWAY GOES THE JAPANESE WAY !

Norwegian researchers have been given permission by their government to shoot up to 60 dolphins, in order to find out more about the diet of the Atlantic white-sided and white-beaked species. This is totally unnecessary. There are numerous ways of investigating the diet of dolphins, which do NOT require killing the dolphins Please write letters of protest to: Ministry of the Environment (MD)

HELP TO CLOSE THE DOLPHIN TANK AT MANATI PARK BAVARO !

Starting back in 1999 the Dolphin tank at Manati Park Bavaro was investigated by a Dolphin Conservation Society, who claimed that the living conditions of these dolphins are not acceptable. The issue of May 21st of Time Magazine stated Manati Park as:".. one of the world's most controversial facilities.." "Worse, critics charge that several dolphins have died prematurely at Manati because of toxic waters." According to CITES documentation only five of the original imported and captured eight dolphins are still there now. Almost 3.000 protest signatures have been handed over but the dolphin tank is still open, the owner even wants to add five additional dolphins this year.

Please take a few minutes and sign up this online pedition to help the dolphins at Manati Park Bravaro
